September Evening Performance

This project will be bringing over German dance artist Eleanora Allerdings to continue collaborative performance with local Brynaman dance artist Jessica Lerner. Jessica has 15 years experience of professional dance choreography, which combines visual arts and performance, with performances in London, Copenhagen, Nuremberg, Lisbon and Arnhem, including many artist collaborations across several arts disciplines.

Eleanora and Jessica have worked collaboratively in Eleanora‘s hometown of Fürth, producing three evenings or performance on a riverbank, in September 2006, which the German Arts Council funded.

As a group we share interests in exploring the body in relation to site-specificity, perception through movement, presence, natural energy of the body, the embodiment of landscape and environment and formation of performance through scores, and task based activities. Part of the process is about travelling from Mountain to theatre and from private exchange to public workshop.

"I am interested in sourcing movement both from internal and external sensory-perception of my personal environment. I make performances where the audience are following my spontaneous series of actions, as if my thought processes are transparent. The preparation for this is familiarising myself with the objects and my natural reactions and associations with them and my movement place or phase of that time."

"Finding a way for "osmosis" between the landscape and movement improvisation. Perceiving with every cell and all senses what's there, what's going on, outside, inside and exploring ways to respond and relate rather than acting out concepts of what is happening. I am very interested in the aspect of PRESENCE (stage presence and "just presence") and how it (presence) changes outdoors and indoors."
